After 60 years in its original building, the Utah Education Association (UEA) needed a space designed for the future. Think Architecture designed a new headquarters in Murray, Utah, blending functionality, sustainability, and modern design to support the UEA’s evolving needs.

Design and Construction
The UEA Headquarters combines both traditional and contemporary elements. The brick masonry and colors draw inspiration from classic schoolhouse designs, and modern materials like EIFS and exposed steel add a fresh, durable touch. Inside, spaces are optimized for collaboration and productivity, with features like glazed office walls for natural daylight and flexible workspaces that include “sit-and-stand” desks and integrated data ports.
Navigating the challenges of constructing on the existing site, the team ensured UEA operations could continue uninterrupted. This phased approach allowed for partial demolition and new construction without disrupting daily activities—a critical priority for the client.
Contribution to the Community
This headquarters is more than a building; it’s a hub for Utah educators and community members. Thoughtful details, from upgraded HVAC systems to flexible meeting spaces, ensure it serves as a gathering place for decades to come. The inclusion of leasable tenant space also provides a secondary income stream, supporting the UEA’s long-term goals.
