Tombstone

Mountain organic materials. Streamlined and modern roof formations. Rustic and natural earth tones. The significant use of metal and wood. These are just a few of the primary design elements characteristic of Tombstone BBQ at Park City Mountain Resort. The result is a contemporary restaurant that embodies Park City’s historic mining and skiing communities. Located at the base of the improved Tombstone ski lift, the restaurant opened in time for the 2019-20 season with seating for up to 50 guests, indoor restrooms, a beer bar, and a full kitchen. The ultra-sleek, modernized restaurant design includes a garage-style window layout that opens to seating outdoor seating, rounding off a suite of transformative dining improvements Vail Resorts completed to the Park City Mountain Resort’s Canyon Village.

Creating the Ultimate Ski-in-Ski-out Dining Experience

What sounds better than authentic BBQ after a long day on the slopes? Think Architecture partnered with Vail Resorts to design a new indoor restaurant, Tombstone BBQ, for the ultimate unique dining experience at the resort. The new concept replaced and further expanded the Tombstone Grill’s outdoor setup for slinging pulled pork and brisket sandwiches.

Nestled at the Tombstone Express base and the newly-installed Over and Out lifts at Canyon Village, Tombstone BBQ is a stop that’s seamlessly integrated with Park City Mountain Resort’s ski base, ski trails, and lifts. We made sure its architectural design took full advantage of its stunning and strategic location. Each feature was designed specifically to entice hungry skiers away from the ski lines and make the most of the surrounding views. From the aromatic smoker to the three garage-style windows in front, Tombstone draws in visitors for the ultimate indoor/outdoor dining experience.

Behind the hinged windows lies a cozy escape from the elements. Heated indoor seating for up to 50 guests gives respite from the cold while expanded outdoor seating allows 100+ additional guests to dine al fresco in the shadow of the mountain. The space even accommodates a ski-up bar, where guests eager to get back to the slopes can dine “on the move.”

This casual yet sophisticated eatery’s signature aesthetic blends the look of an old mining structure with contemporary features for an overall modern, industrial design. Visitors of the restaurant enjoy convenient features for an overall modern, industrial design. Visitors of the restaurant enjoy convenient indoor restrooms, a draft beer bar, a wood-fired BBQ pit, and a full kitchen serving up all the Tombstone classics. Whether it’s a quick bite to eat or a celebration with friends after a day on the slopes, Tombstone BBQ is a destination for Park City Mountain Resort guests.

Guests looking for a relaxed and fun atmosphere, contemporary architecture, and killer BBQ will find it on the mountain at Tombstone BBQ.
