Day Ranch Park

Bluffdale City enlisted Think Architecture to help with the master planning of a 20-acre area in the growing southern Salt Lake Valley city. Think provided multiple scenarios for the use of the land that ultimately included soccer field, pedestrian plaza with pavilions, skate park, trail system, nature gardens, two tennis courts, basketball court, restrooms, gazebo, dog park, and 220-stall parking lot. Additionally, the park site is adjacent to a East Jordan Canal requiring close coordination with the operator.

A Community Oasis: Bluffdale’s Premier Park with Diverse Amenities

Think Architecture has been honored to play a role in designing and completing the newest Bluffdale park, Day Ranch Park. This nearly 20-acre multi-use park features various amenities for the entire community, such as ample green space, a playground, pickleball courts, soccer fields, and more. Residents can stay, play, and even stroll through this Bluffdale park that connects adjacent neighborhoods and public schools, including a new trail crossing over the canal.

Day Ranch Park

Meeting a Community Need

We designed Day Ranch Park to be a space that could accommodate a variety of ages and interests while serving as an area to hold city events. Think Architecture combined three separate parcels and designed them to create a cohesive single park. Day Ranch Park is designed to be accessible for people of all abilities and ages, with walking trails and loops that allow access to every part of this Bluffdale park. It features an innovative skate park, pump track, downhill bike course, and playground that will challenge riders of all ages and skill levels.

Residents enjoy playing on the eight pickleball courts and an additional tennis court that converts into two additional pickleball courts. There are also three competition-sized soccer fields and even a three-acre dog park. Bluffdale residents also enjoy various community gatherings, festivals, and sports leagues.

Waterwise Landscaping

Think Architecture incorporated natural elements into the park design, including water-wise planting areas with drip irrigation. The park features drought-tolerant grasses and wildflowers throughout, attracting various butterfly species. The custom butterfly wall illustrates the life cycle of butterflies. Kids love scavenger hunting for the various butterfly and ladybug designs scattered throughout the playground. Though there are many incredible parks in the Salt Lake metropolitan area, Day Ranch Park leads the way in park architecture, landscape, and design.
