At Think Architecture, every role contributes to our collective mission of creating designs that are meaningful, functional, and intentional. Lisa Proctor exemplifies this philosophy with her passion for human-centered design and her love of learning.
Finding Passion Through Exploration
Born and raised in Utah, Lisa has always been curious about what makes experiences truly memorable. Whether it was comparing movie theaters, analyzing museum exhibits, or debating the best ride at Lagoon, she was drawn to the relationship between design and human interaction.
Lisa began her college journey at Utah State University, pursuing a business degree, but quickly realized it wasn’t the right fit. That’s when she discovered the Human Experience Design and Interaction major, which aligned perfectly with her interest in intentional, human-centered design.
“It’s one thing to create incredible things, but are they usable, personal, and beautiful for the person they’re designed for?” Lisa asks. This question became a cornerstone of her studies and career aspirations.
As a senior, Lisa sought practical experience to complement her coursework. A friend recommended Think Architecture, and she was excited to join a team that shares her commitment to thoughtful and impactful design.
A Unique Role with a Broad Perspective
In her role at Think Architecture, Lisa appreciates the variety of tasks and interactions her position offers.
“I get to see a little bit of everything,” Lisa says. “I assist with projects, support marketing, collaborate with architects, help interior designers, and connect with our amazing clients. It gives me a unique perspective on how different people and processes come together to create something meaningful.”
Her role not only supports Think Architecture’s operations but also feeds her curiosity about the many facets of design.
Always Learning, Always Growing
Lisa’s excitement for personal growth extends beyond her current position. When asked what expertise she’d want to master instantly, she chose coding.
“I’ve done some coding before and really enjoyed it, but it was hard for me to retain the scripting and language,” she explains. “I loved building with Arduinos and coding websites. Being able to do that for fun, without the stress, would be awesome.”
