Bringing Functionality to Home Design
Cody Parry, an Architectural Associate and Job Captain at Think Architecture, is passionate about residential design, crafting homes that are both functional and visually compelling. With a client-first mindset, he ensures each home seamlessly blends beauty with practicality.
A Lifelong Passion for Architecture
Cody’s fascination with home design began at a young age, inspired by the variety of home styles found in Utah. As he continued exploring his interests and took architectural classes, his fascination grew into a career path. Today, he finds fulfillment in working closely with clients to bring their visions to life, creating designs that reflect both their lifestyles and the surrounding environment.
Thoughtful Collaboration and Design Approach
For Cody, successful design begins with communication. He listens attentively to clients’ needs while offering creative solutions to enhance their vision. Specializing in residential architecture, he gravitates toward Craftsman, Modern Farmhouse, Mountain Style, Colonial Revival, and Mountain Modern aesthetics. His functionality-driven approach ensures layouts that are not only visually appealing but also support everyday living.
Cody also draws inspiration from historical architecture, particularly the Salt Lake Temple, which he admires for its craftsmanship and dedication. He enjoys learning from historical architecture while incorporating modern advancements to enhance functionality. Utah’s natural beauty and diverse architectural landscape further shape his approach, inspiring designs that integrate seamlessly with their surroundings. Whether crafting a contemporary retreat or a traditional home, he prioritizes livability and harmony with the environment.
Innovation and Looking Ahead
As technology continues to evolve, Cody appreciates how architectural and rendering programs enhance the design process, making it easier for clients to visualize their projects. Looking ahead, he sees these tools playing an increasing role in refining home design and improving the client experience.
One of the most rewarding aspects of architecture for Cody is seeing his designs come to life. He finds great fulfillment in visiting completed projects and witnessing his clients’ excitement and satisfaction.
Outside of work, Cody channels his creativity through music, particularly the piano. If he weren’t an architect, he says he would ‘for sure’ be a concert pianist, as music has always been a major passion in his life. Beyond architecture and music, he enjoys spending time with family, exploring the outdoors, and playing games.
Cody’s blend of creativity and technical expertise allows him to design homes that are both functional and inspiring. His commitment to thoughtful design and client collaboration makes him a valued member of the Think Architecture team.
